Last Entry

Assalamualaikum to the readers, regarding to this post, I would like to conclude that, this is my last post that needed in completing for my Critical Literacy subject. First at all, I would like to thanks to the God, that I able to perform and manage to taking part for this subject along with my classmates. Without them, especially my group I wouldn’t able to think logically based on the Rule of Ten. Regarding this subject, I’m having a difficulty, because sometimes I’m not a critical thinker. This ability always comes when I don’t needed. That why, I thankfully to my group, because we always help each other by sharing the opinion and thought regarding the article given.

All my assignment are requires to use the Rule of Ten, not for myself only, I bet that almost of my classmates having this difficulty regarding the Rule of Ten. To use the Rule of Ten, all we to do is to fully understand what all the article all about. If we don’t, we are unable to use the Rule of Ten perfectly. Like my lecture told me, reading an article of critical literacy task, exercise or assignment, you will not understand for the first time. You have to Read, Read and Read. That the only tips that will work on us. If you cannot understand the article, you have no point of use the Rule of Ten.

Okay now just clear you mind, throw away the bad perception that just I gave to you. Every coin have two side. Now, let’s see the interesting part of learning Critical Literacy and how the lecture teaches you. Seriously, the days after you master or understand these subject, you will able to perform well into other subject. Especially, the subject that require speaking and thinking. To start a speech, we need to think first, organized the word or point that need to be present and what kind of language that you want to use to approach the audience. This will help us to perform in blink of eyes. How great it’s that!?

Last is, the way of lecture using movie as a method to analysis the movie than reading an article are quite brilliant. Sometimes, the student quite boring when they have to use the Rule of Ten on an article. As for me, analyst movie are quite interesting than article, but it’s up to them. They know the best of using the way of their learning style to us. Before I end my post, I would like to say I’m thankfully to Madam Wanie for teaches us the basic like how to define which brainer are you and how to train our brain to be equally dominant. Without that kind of method, I would not notice which side I’m and how develop myself into these critical thinking.

Perak starts online tutorials for students

                Back in the old times, student have like 3 source to gain knowledge, from parent, teacher and book, but not all of this source are matching to the way of  to gain knowledge. As years after, people has discover that the new source to gain knowledge are from internet. Date 25^th, NST has release an article “Perak starts online tutorials for students” Perak state has discover that people nowadays are likely attract to electronic devices like smartphones and computers. The intention are likely to be the Generation Y, because they love to scroll everything with their smartphone rather than books.

                Perak has come with a brilliant idea to increasing their student grade by using the internet. I think, that is a good way of new kind of method that are introduce by the government. Moreover, student nowadays are bit different from the old days. Some of them like to be alone and some of them like to sit at home rather spend their time at school especially during weekend. Thanks to the Star Vitalnet Technology Sdn. Bhd, they are responsible to manage the online tutoring portal for students.

               

                This kind of program are beneficial to student and also to the teacher too. Sometimes the student are unable  to catch everything that they are listening in the class and the teacher cannot monitor all the student, only the one that are talkative and brilliant student are getting the intention. So, by using the portal, student can enjoy and improve their knowledge by doing it after school. The student just need a computer, an internet access and also a username and a password and their can explore the knowledge to beyond. Many students also have difficulty to understand the core subject. For example chemistry, additional mathematics and history can learn and repeatly listen to the same video or exercises to a deeper understanding and as the result will make their days brighter.

                All of this kind of subject that student having difficulty to understand, they can go to the website ezlearn2u. This website also being supported by “Tuisyen Gemilang” and “Mind Mapping Programs”. As for the conclusion, I would like to say this new method should spread all over the state, because it is very helpful and will improve student into getting better result, deeper understanding and can perform well. For some student who are cannot afford to buy or have a computer. They can ask for the Government note 1Malaysia or just go to the library cyber café.

FLASH OF PRIDE

                As year by year, Malaysia is now a developing country and they are trying to compete with the develop country such as Japan, United State of America and other country, and they are also trying their best to be the same level as them as well. In August 31, 2013, Malaysia are celebrating the Independence Day, which marks Malaysia 56 years of Independency. As the “Flash of Pride” picture that provided by Sairien Nafis, my point of view is, our country are failed in term of how they claims that “they are a developing country”

               

                My agreement towards Malaysia is a developing country are true, but my perception toward this that they are just in baby step even though they are almost 20 years toward being a developing country. As the picture provided, the reader can see that we are 56 years of Independency but why Malaysia are still using men forces to prepare the event at the public square rather than use machine and why some of the Malaysian are still live in poverty. As we know, the truth is that we are importing labor form non-develop country because they are only afford to pay the lowest salary to these labor.

                Next, as the picture are showing, these labor are totally unprofessional and cannot be reliable. This is due to how they deal with their work. Working at that kind of high are very risky and very dangerous. They should wear some protective vest and helmet. If something unexpected bad happen to these worker, it could affect the country image even though some would say, it just something would be the last people could broad up to the world.

                As the day of independence come forward, almost everyone could celebrate this celebration, but while the rest of people in Malaysia are celebrating independence, they are still people who are unable to join this day peacefully as they are working while other people are in holidays. As the conclusion, taking step forward to be a developing country is not a Malaysia government responsible too. NGO and the rest of Malaysian should help as to fast forward the time of expectation before the year 2020.

                Greetings to the readers and I hope you have a pleasant days. For my second entry I would like to talk about “Marrying Money is the young woman, older man…” stereotyping is exaggerated generalizations associate with a categorizing system or according to Oxford Advanced Learning`s Dictionary, it is a fixed idea or image that many people have at a particular type person or thing, but which is often not true in reality. Which it is they will go beyond the facts ay had and make ridiculous assumptions of point that usually have no valid basis.

                This statement can be interpreted in a different ways based on each individual knowledge. This due to the fact, us as a human being we cannot avoiding in commenting someone or something that beyond out thought and experience based on our first impression, thoughts or point of view. When we heard or being told about this kind of statement, the first action that snap out of our mind, a young women in between age 20 to 29 mostly marrying an old man who a wealth enough to support every demands that the women desire for. Certain people will married an old man who are not suit enough to be together, people might assume a grandfather are having fun with his grandfather at the public. Moreover, as we be stereotype, we will assume her is not in love but a shaver and waited her husband to be dead and claims his wealth.

                In addition, women nowadays also have their own hidden agenda. For example, she marrying the old man maybe because his rank or popularity. People will do anything for their own benefits. In nowadays situation, the old man actually know what is the reason behind it but they just don’t care. We can see when a young, sexy and beautiful willing to marry a man that old, not handsome but rich. This situation really implies the stereotype of ‘marrying money’. The woman maybe wants the title ‘Datuk’ or ‘Datin’, we can never guess for the real agenda. We can see in the drama, news or maybe just might happen in front of our eyes, a beautiful young lady married an old guy for her own benefits.

                To recapitulate, people will be stereotype and its natural thing to do when it’s come to the first impression but, we need to be careful especially when the word that came out might hurts people feelings as we criticizer them and likely we are actually have no right because we not in their shoes.

                Greetings to the readers and I hope you have a pleasant days. Well, today for my first entry I would like to state out my point of view. For the first time I heard this subject from the senior, they said it’s about thinking outside of the box, I mean way far from the box and kind of similar to literature. Honestly, I’m just assuming I've to be matured thinker and be like a British. Get it? They always use double meaning or sarcastic word to talk or advice people. Still, I’m not fully understand what is critical literacy and I’m aspect that this subject was fun and yet challenging.

           My expectation and hope on this subject was like, to train our brain to equally dominant and can

be spontaneous at any situation, doesn't matter in hurry or other uses. Basically, what I read on the book, over and over again that Critical Literacy are to encourage reader especially student like us who are learning it to analyst the text and develop strategies to uncovering underlying message. It seem very likely as Understanding Short Stories Subject(USS) that I learned in semester 3, and I just need more experience and more knowledge on how to deal with it. I guess, from my opinion critical literacy just as USS and the experience and the knowledge about this subject should be applied to everyone especially student. So they all can be critical thinker and act in a second.

               

       For the first month, I was having difficulties in understanding the concept of critical literacy. I was unable to act fast and seems all my classmates are getting the ideas of critical literacy pretty fast. I didn’t even know what the Rule of Ten are.  I thought, it was just a rule on doing essay like they need a thesis statement, must have a solid point and elaboration and able to give impact to the readers. That it, until I receive the module I almost able to extract all of the Rule of Ten concept. I guess experience teach me to be matured and its work! With the help of the module I knew I will be same brilliant level as my classmates. It just like I can solve Da`vinci cryptic puzzle by myself. So, back to the main point, The Rule of Ten are the ultimate guide line to help in writing critical review. Topic, content, source, audience, rhetorical function, purpose, perspective, positioning, impact, and visual literacy are the key of The Rule of Ten.

              

  For what I concern is, I need a lot of experience and knowledge to perform well in this subject. I have learned by myself about the Bloom Taxonomy. It help me to determine the level on which we understand the information. There are 5 level which are knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and the last evaluation. This is to develop of intellectual or mental skill to acquire knowledge.

                Briefly, all of these will help me a lot to be a critical thinker, understand the way to find the important information and help me to flying color on my assignment. Even though I just still developing my mind to this subject, it made me realized that this subject it’s so important and I hope the outcome of learning will be benefit to those who studied this subject.
