Greetings
to the readers and I hope you have a pleasant days. Well, today for my first
entry I would like to state out my point of view. For the first time I heard
this subject from the senior, they said it’s about thinking outside of the box,
I mean way far from the box and kind of similar to literature. Honestly, I’m
just assuming I've to be matured thinker and be like a British. Get it? They
always use double meaning or sarcastic word to talk or advice people. Still,
I’m not fully understand what is critical literacy and I’m aspect that this
subject was fun and yet challenging.
My
expectation and hope on this subject was like, to train our brain to equally
dominant and can
be spontaneous at any situation, doesn't matter in hurry or other
uses. Basically, what I read on the book, over and over again that Critical
Literacy are to encourage reader especially student like us who are learning it
to analyst the text and develop strategies to uncovering underlying message. It
seem very likely as Understanding Short Stories Subject(USS) that I learned in
semester 3, and I just need more experience and more knowledge on how to deal
with it. I guess, from my opinion critical literacy just as USS and the
experience and the knowledge about this subject should be applied to everyone
especially student. So they all can be critical thinker and act in a second.
For the
first month, I was having difficulties in understanding the concept of critical
literacy. I was unable to act fast and seems all my classmates are getting the
ideas of critical literacy pretty fast. I didn’t even know what the Rule of Ten
are. I thought, it was just a rule on
doing essay like they need a thesis statement, must have a solid point and
elaboration and able to give impact to the readers. That it, until I receive
the module I almost able to extract all of the Rule of Ten concept. I guess
experience teach me to be matured and its work! With the help of the module I
knew I will be same brilliant level as my classmates. It just like I can solve
Da`vinci cryptic puzzle by myself. So, back to the main point, The Rule of Ten
are the ultimate guide line to help in writing critical review. Topic, content,
source, audience, rhetorical function, purpose, perspective, positioning,
impact, and visual literacy are the key of The Rule of Ten.
For
what I concern is, I need a lot of experience and knowledge to perform well in
this subject. I have learned by myself about the Bloom Taxonomy. It help me to
determine the level on which we understand the information. There are 5 level
which are knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and the
last evaluation. This is to develop of intellectual or mental skill to acquire
knowledge.
Briefly,
all of these will help me a lot to be a critical thinker, understand the way to
find the important information and help me to flying color on my assignment.
Even though I just still developing my mind to this subject, it made me
realized that this subject it’s so important and I hope the outcome of learning
will be benefit to those who studied this subject.
